The Neighborhood Watch Committee of the Downtown Neighborhood Association is pleased to announce the implementation of the “Suspicious Activity Reporting System (SARS).”
This is a way for suspicious
activity to be collected, analyzed, and reported as trend information rather
than single events. While a single
event may not warrant action, the trend of several similar events could warrant
action.
SARS is the next evolution
of the Neighborhood Watch program started this year by the Downtown Neighborhood
Association. The reporting system is
imbedded in the DNA web site (www.jcdna.org).
All you have to do to report
a suspicious activity is click your left mouse button on the “Neighborhood
Watch” sign in the front page of the web site.
This will take you to a linked form with easy to use, fill in the blank
questions about the event you observed. When
you are finished, click your left mouse button on the “Submit” button to
send the information to the DNA Neighborhood Watch Coordinator.
Once the information has been collected and analyzed.
The resulting trend information will be reported to help target areas and
types of suspicious activities that need greater attention.
As always, if the event is
an emergency, you should contact 9-1-1 immediately.
Of for a non emergency, call the Johnson City Police Bureau at 434-6160.
We encourage you to become
familiar with and use SARS when needed. Your
comments are always welcome.
